Chrysler Sucks And Don't Buy A Pacifica. | ||
To your right you see a photo of a Chrysler Pacific I bought from
Flagler Chrysler in Palm Coast, FL. Boy did they see me
coming..... Rust started dropping onto my driveway and my muffler got very loud, so I thought I needed a new muffler. When I had someone look under my vehicle, they discovered my whole subframe is rusting away to nothing! I can actually touch parts of my vehicle underneath and big chunks of rusted metal fall from it. I did a search on the internet and found that this is a common problem with Pacificas, and I don't know about the rest of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep family. The subframe crumbles away and leaves the owner with a non-usuable vehicle or 1000s of dollars to fix it so it is safe to drive. This is an extremely dangerous thing to have happen to your SUV. Here are some links to others who have the same problem. If you have this problem go to http://www.nhtsa.gov/ and make a complaint to try to get a recall. http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/sub-frame-rust-c358497.html http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0ec024/258 http://204.16.221.2/direct/view/.f0ec024/254 and there are many more complaints out there. Just put 'pacifica subframe rust' in google and hit enter! |

So I contacted Flager Chrysler dealership where I bought the vehicle
and was told it was a New York SUV and it rusted from the salt on the
roads! Duh, how stupid do they think I am? I lived in
Michigan 40 years and I never saw a vehicle subframe rust like this.
And the body of the SUV has no rust, just underneath the SUV where you
can't readily see it. I also told the dealership that the salesman told me it was a Florida SUV, of course that was a lie. When I complained about rust, they did a carfax and said it is a New York vehicle. I was able to find this information myself by entering my VIN number into a search at http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ . I called the 800 Chrysler help line, entered a complaint to which they just referred it back to the dealership to which I received an email that says my vehicle is no longer under warranty. Duh! It wasn't under warranty when I bought it and now I know why they sold it to me 'as is'. So here I am, I spent every cent I had in savings to buy the SUV, and going in debt daily trying to just pay bills and buy groceries, and now I have a very dangerous, possibly deadly vehicle that I paid over $10,000 for in March 2009 and I can't afford to fix it. Does Chrysler care? Hell no! This vehicle needs to be recalled and the subframe replaced, along with everything else that is rusting away under the SUV. |
